Apply now for DMEA's Youth Leadership Programs

NOVEMBER 10, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is now accepting applications for their 2018 summer youth leadership programs. DMEA will sponsor one student to attend the National Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. and three students to attend the Colorado Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp near Steamboat Springs, CO. Each program is all-expenses-paid. Current high school students between the ages of 16 and 18, as of June 2018, are encouraged to apply.

ELEVATE, HORSEFLY TEAM UP FOR COMMUNITY INFO NIGHT Public invited to Elevate Brew Info Night Friday, November 3, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

OCTOBER 31, 2017 – Elevate Fiber and Horsefly are once again teaming up to help bring gigabit internet to more neighborhoods in Montrose. This Friday, November 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the pair is hosting the Elevate Brew Info Night at the Brew and Bogey at Black Canyon Golf Course. 

Get Ready for Fun at DMEA Member Appreciation Night

SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is back again this year with a new and improved member appreciation event. Just as they do every October, the co-op is celebrating National Cooperative Month with something special just for members. This year, DMEA is inviting members to Member Appreciation Night at the Rec on Friday, October 13, from 4:00 PM to close at either the Montrose Community Recreation Center or Bill Heddles Recreation Center.


JULY 27, 2017 – Yet another community can now boast that it has access to gigabit internet. Just this month, Elevate Fiber announced that a zone in Cedaredge met its goal for preregistrations and kicked off construction. Owned by Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), Elevate has made phenomenal progress in building a fiber optic network throughout the co-op’s service territory.

Don’t Be Fooled By Phone Scams DMEA members being targeted by criminals

JULY 10, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) has received numerous reports from members of an active phone scam throughout their service territory over the past week. Callers are claiming to be DMEA representatives, stating members are past due on their account, and threatening to disconnect service if members do not pay.

The co-op urges members to remain cautious and follow the tips below to protect themselves:


JUNE 28, 2017 – Solar Energy International’s (SEI) Solar in the Schools program secured solid funding this month, when Delta-Montrose Electric Association committed $150,000 to the program. DMEA’s Board of Directors voted unanimously at their regular May board meeting to funnel $150,000 from the co-op’s Unclaimed Capital Credit fund to support the installation of solar electric systems at five high schools within DMEA’s service territory.

DMEA Celebrates Rural Ingenuity at 2017 Annual Meeting of Members

JUNE 19, 2017 – Last week, DMEA and more than 300 members came together to celebrate the spirit of rural communities at the 2017 Annual Meeting of Members. The event featured family fun, dinner, and educational booths. DMEA and Elevate Fiber representatives spoke with members about how to save energy, community programs, Gigabit speed internet, and much more. A highlight for many were the bucket truck rides, where attendees got a bird’s eye view of Hotchkiss High School and the surrounding peaks.

JUNE 1, 2017 - Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s (DMEA) Annual Meeting of Members will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Hotchkiss High School, 438 Bulldog Street. The fun kicks off at 4:30 p.m., with bucket truck rides, kid’s games, educational booths, and Elevate Fiber demonstrations.

Winter Storm Socks Power System

Widespread outages hit members across DMEA

MAY 18, 2017 – A spring storm rolled in yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 17, bringing with it heavy wet snow and widespread outages across Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s ( DMEA) service territory. Snow began loading the lines and snapping tree branches as early as yesterday evening. It is estimated that approximately 4,500 members from across DMEA’s system were impacted by power interruptions.
